Acknowledgement of Country

Common Nature acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and to emerging leaders.

Connection to nature is experienced in many different ways across individuals and cultures. In Australia, it has deep roots. First Nations peoples have sustained distinct relationships with Country for tens of thousands of years, which share some features with the way science describes connection and differ in others. We hope a stronger connection with nature can be common ground for all Australians.
